Engineering Field Technician

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in construction, engineering, quality assurance, or gaining hands-on experience with real-world, high-impact projects across the region. What You'll Do As an Engineering Field Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring construction quality and compliance on active job sites. Your responsibilities will include: * Performing field testing, sampling, observations, and inspections of construction materials * Conducting Construction Materials Testing (CMT) on concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, structural steel, fireproofing, and more * Completing mathematical calculations, test data reduction, and preparing accurate field and laboratory documentation * Communicating daily with contractors, project managers, engineers, and CVET staff * Representing CVET professionally while supporting safe, high-quality construction practices What We're Looking For We want candidates who are reliable, safety-minded, and ready to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment. Qualified applicants should have: * A high school diploma or GED (BSCE or EI candidates are also encouraged to apply) * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Ability to perform basic math and follow detailed testing procedures * A willingness to work in varying weather conditions * Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs (mostly team lifts due to weight/shape) * Availability for variable hours and overtime when needed * Age 21+ with a clean driving record (required to operate a company vehicle) Prior CMT/Special Inspections experience or certifications are a plus.
