Experienced Landscaper / Landscape Technician

We are seeking an experienced and dependable landscaper to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in landscape installation, plant knowledge for Zone 9 climates, and the ability to complete projects professionally, safely, and efficiently. This position involves both physical labor and skilled landscape craftsmanship.

Position is contractor 1099. Pay range is $120-$250 daily, skill and leadership dependent. 

Responsibilities

• Read and understand landscape planting plans, layouts, and design concepts
  
   
• Install trees, shrubs, flowers, sod, and landscape materials according to plans and specifications
  
   
• Perform grading and site preparation work
  
   
• Understand soil composition, soil amendments, drainage requirements, and proper planting techniques
  
   
• Install mulch, pine straw, decorative rock, and other landscape finishes
  
   
• Build and assist with hardscape projects including patios, walkways, retaining walls, edging, and related features
  
   
• Assist with or install irrigation systems including troubleshooting and repairs
  
   
• Understand and implement proper drainage solutions such as French drains, swales, catch basins, and grading corrections
  
   
• Install and maintain water features including pumps, plumbing, liners, and filtration systems
  
   
• Safely operate landscaping equipment including skid steers, mini excavators, trenchers, sod cutters, compactors, trailers, and power tools
  
   
• Follow company safety procedures and maintain safe job site practices at all times
  
   
• Work efficiently as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail and quality workmanship
  
   

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of landscape installation experience preferred
  
   
• Basic knowledge of Zone 9 plants, trees, shrubs, and seasonal care
  
   
• Ability to read and follow planting plans and landscape designs
  
   
• Experience with irrigation and drainage systems
  
   
• Experience operating landscape and construction equipment
  
   
• Strong understanding of landscape installation methods and materials
  
   
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  
   
• Valid driver’s license preferred
  
   
• Dependable, punctual, and professional attitude
  
   

Preferred Skills

• Hardscape installation experience
  
   
• Water feature construction and maintenance knowledge
  
   
• Equipment trailer towing experience
  
   
• Leadership or crew lead experience
  
   
• Knowledge of proper safety systems and OSHA awareness
