Solution Architect

We are hiring a Solution Architect to support a global e-commerce leader modernizing the way its teams create and manage content with Agentic AI. In this hands-on role, you will define the target architecture and actively support engineering teams as they build a scalable, low-latency foundation that makes content creation faster, higher quality, and consistently on-brand.

About the project

Our client is a global e-commerce leader operating a large-scale, service-oriented technology estate with complex cloud infrastructure. They are modernizing their content authoring and knowledge-management platform by introducing Agentic AI to level up how content teams work — replacing dated, legacy authoring tools with a modern, integrated experience.

The content spans both internal-facing and external-facing material, so the platform must accelerate content creation and reduce time-to-produce while keeping every piece compliant with the client’s brand voice, tone and guidelines.

Our team is building the foundation that powers this initiative: a content platform and an agentic layer on top of it. The platform acts as a system of record for a large content estate, so it must be engineered for low latency, high performance, scalability and reliability , with clean integration across multiple downstream services.

This role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing this foundation. The initiative is multi-team and highly collaborative, operating in an enterprise environment alongside the client’s own architects, requiring close coordination across delivery teams, adherence to high engineering standards and strong architectural alignment.

What you’ll do

• System architecture and design — Design system architecture: produce architecture diagrams (C4 and related views) for different stakeholder groups, define system boundaries and integration patterns, perform and document technical tradeoff analysis, and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs). Ensure architecture supports scalability, performance, reliability and long-term maintainability.

• Agentic AI systems design — Shape the agentic layer: design AI-driven workflows, help decide the agent runtime, and define how agents are configured, tuned and integrated with the content platform. Bring an architect’s view to MCP tooling and RAG patterns in an enterprise context.

• Hands-on technical leadership — Guide implementation by working closely with engineering teams on design reviews, code reviews, critical code paths, prototyping and architectural spikes. Validate, approve, reject or redesign proposals from delivery teams, and be accountable for ensuring teams follow the architecture guidelines set for the initiative.

• Cross-team collaboration and stakeholder communication — Act as a counterpart to the client’s architects and collaborate closely with program management, product and engineering stakeholders. Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable systems, and communicate architectural decisions clearly and repeatedly across many groups and meetings. Operate effectively within a multi-architect, consensus-based enterprise environment.

• Leadership and communication — Lead technical discussions, guide teams and set architectural direction with clarity and confidence. Foster open, constructive conversations, especially when navigating uncertainty.

What you bring

• A proven, strong software architect and hands-on engineer with a track record of designing and delivering large-scale systems.

• Hands-on experience building AI tools and platforms as a software engineer/architect — from architecture and design through to implementation.

• Hands-on development experience across multiple stacks and solution types.

• Strong expertise in the Java ecosystem (primary stack).

• Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming platforms (specifically Kafka ).

• Strong understanding of distributed systems, integration patterns and service-oriented architecture.

• Experience designing and documenting large-scale distributed systems, with proven ability to produce architecture documentation, diagrams and ADRs.

• Demonstrated ability to design for low latency, high performance, scalability and reliability .

• Excellent stakeholder management skills: managing expectations, presenting, and communicating with technical and executive audiences.

• Ability to work closely with business stakeholders to define requirements and solution scenarios.

• A fast learner who adapts quickly to new domains and environments.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; results-oriented mindset.

• Excellent conceptual visualization skills.

• Travel readiness (US).

• English level B2+ .

• Comfortable working on a flexible calendar aligned with the client’s US business hours (PST / Central US), managing your own schedule to ensure meaningful overlap with the client and delivery teams as the project is run on the client’s side.

Nice to have

• Experience designing agentic AI systems and AI-driven architectures (agentic systems engineering), including MCP tooling and RAG pipelines for enterprise.

• Experience with React and TypeScript as a secondary stack.

• Experience working within enterprise environments and multi-team governance processes.

• Exposure to content management systems (CMS) or knowledge-management platforms.

• Experience with cloud-native design ( AWS or Azure ) and on-prem or hybrid environments.
