Registered Nurse (RN) - MICU

Registered Nurse - Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)

Shift: Nights, 12-hour (18:45–07:15); Weekend requirement: Every other weekend; minimum 6 weekend shifts per contract

Minimum 2 years ICU nursing experience; Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted; Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; EMR: Epic; Unit-specific skills: Mechanical ventilation management, ABG interpretation, and central/arterial line care

Provide comprehensive care to patients with critical medical conditions, such as sepsis, DKA, and heart failure.

Monitor patients using invasive hemodynamic monitoring techniques and manage complex treatment plans.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory therapy and interpretation services.

Perform procedures such as central line insertion and management, arterial line placement, and chest tube care.

Administer medications, including blood products and TPN/lipids, and manage IV insulin protocols.

Recognize and respond to multi-system organ dysfunction and manage critical care interventions.

Mandatory pre-start: candidate must go to lab within 48 hours after signing; all testing completed within 48 hours; Local candidates (within ~50 miles): lower rate applies; COVID-19 vaccine: Not required; Flu vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
