Medical Receptionist – Physical Therapy Department

Location: Farmington Hills, MI

Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00 / hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Type: Full-Time / Front Desk

Position Overview

PrideStaff is assisting a leading medical practice in Farmington Hills in recruiting a dedicated Medical Receptionist for their Physical Therapy department. This position plays a critical role in managing day-to-day front office operations, ensuring seamless patient intake, and coordinating insurance approvals.

Key Responsibilities

• Insurance Verification & Prior Authorizations: Primary responsibility for processing prior authorizations and verifying insurance coverage for incoming physical therapy patients.
• Patient Intake & Scheduling: Greet patients, manage the check-in/check-out process, and handle scheduling for physical therapy appointments.
• Front Office Operations: Answer incoming telephone calls, triage patient inquiries, and assist with general correspondence.
• Records & Administration: Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and databases in compliance with clinic standards.
• Care Coordination: Coordinate patient testing, care workflows, and medical records requests as needed.
• General Administrative Support: Assist with office inventory, light billing/coding support, and general clerical duties to maintain efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience in a medical front desk or medical receptionist role required.
• Proven experience handling prior authorizations and insurance verification (required).
• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software.
