Chief of Neurology

Eagle Telemedicine is seeking an accomplished, vascular-trained Neurologist to serve as Chief of Neurology. This leadership role will guide the strategic direction and clinical excellence of our nationwide Tele-Neurology programs, including both General Neurology and Acute Stroke services. The position combines 0.5 FTE in administrative leadership with 0.5 FTE in direct clinical practice, ensuring the Chief remains actively engaged in patient care while fostering collaboration and innovation across our physician network. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for Eagle’s Neurology service line, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered, and compliant care across multiple hospitals and health systems. Serve as the primary clinical liaison with client hospital executives, medical staff, and Eagle operational leaders. Serve as a clinical advisor to the implementation team, guiding program workflow design, offering perspective on the local clinical environment, and supporting early relationship‑building with hospital teams. Establish quarterly Neurology Service Line Department meetings to review client issues, physician team updates, and organizational initiatives; ensure active engagement and attendance. Provide coaching and leadership mentorship to Neurology leadership team. Establish and maintain evidence‑based clinical protocols, ensuring alignment with national standards (e.g., AHA/ASA stroke guidelines). Oversee quality assurance, peer review, and performance improvement initiatives for General Neurology and Stroke programs. (FPPE/OPPE) Demonstrate expertise in, and serve as a resource for physicians on, best practices in collaborating with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), ensuring effective integration into tele‑neurology workflows and high‑quality team‑based care. Lead physician recruitment, credentialing, onboarding, and mentorship within the neurology service line. Collaborate with Eagle’s executive and operations teams to optimize scheduling models, program efficiency, and client satisfaction. Represent the Neurology service line in strategic planning, business development opportunities, and client proposal discussions. Accountable for the financial performance of the Neurology Division. Clinical Practice (0.5 FTE) Provide direct patient care via telemedicine platforms, delivering both General Neurology consultations and Acute Stroke activations. Serve as a senior clinical resource for complex or high‑acuity cases, offering guidance and support to the neurology physician team. Model best practices in workflow, documentation, and communication, setting the standard for clinical excellence across the service line. Monitor quality and patient outcome data for neurology and stroke programs, leading initiatives to implement improvements aligned with hospital quality metrics, accreditation standards, and evidence‑based best practices. Collaborate with onsite care teams—including ED physicians, hospitalists, intensivists, and nursing staff—to ensure seamless and coordinated neurological care. Participate in ongoing clinical education, case reviews, and internal training sessions to foster continuous learning and physician development. Contribute to the development and refinement of innovative tele‑neurology practices and technologies that enhance patient outcomes and program performance. Qualifications Required Hold medical degree (MD/DO) or equivalent international medical degree (e.g., MBBS). Vascular Fellowship / Board Certification or extensive recent Acute Stroke Experience. Complete fellowship training in Vascular Neurology, completed 4+ years ago; must have recent acute stroke care experience. Have physician leadership experience for 5+ years (Division Chief, Medical Director, or equivalent) in hospital‑based or telemedicine neurology/stroke services; plus, a minimum of 7 years of clinical experience. Maintain an active, unrestricted U.S. medical license in at least one state; multi‑state licensure and/or IMLC eligibility required upon hire. Demonstrate experience with telemedicine care delivery, including workflow development, platform utilization, and understanding of capabilities and limitations. Show proven ability to lead and drive performance results with a distributed team of physicians. Exhibit exceptional communication, organizational, and relationship‑building skills. Preferred Hold an advanced degree (MPH/MHA/MBA). Demonstrate success in program development, including launching or expanding tele‑neurology or acute stroke programs. Experience with quality improvement initiatives and outcome monitoring (e.g., Joint Commission, DNV, or state stroke program certifications). Past or active participation in research, publications, or presentations related to vascular neurology, stroke, or telemedicine. Established track record of building collaborative relationships with hospital executives, medical staff, and multidisciplinary care teams. Possess strong financial acumen with experience in budget management, resource allocation, and program growth strategies. Hold or be eligible for multi‑state licensure in key geographic regions to support national tele‑neurology coverage. Role Structure Compensation Model: Competitive administrative stipend plus clinical rates (FMV aligned). Reporting: Reports to Chief Executive Officer and Chief Physician Executive; collaborates closely with Operations, Clinical Services, and Sales & Marketing.
