Overview The Customs Entry Writer is responsible for filing entries with U.S. Customs and other government agencies, as well as interacting with importers, government agencies, truckers, and warehouses via email and telephone. Imperative Logistics Global Forwarding specializes in highly complex air, ocean and ground shipments, customs brokerage services and a full suite of international logistics services. The team focuses on industries with unique needs such as life sciences, technology, aerospace, and chemicals, ensuring utmost attention to detail. With offices located at major international shipping hubs and a global network of agents and partners, Imperative is a critical partner in your supply chain. Essential Job Functions Clear goods through customs and work with other government agencies such as the FDA and USDA. Classify goods according to tariff coding systems. Prepare and process import documentation in compliance with customs regulations, laws, and procedures. Arrange payment of taxes and duties on shipments. Bill customers and sign documents on behalf of clients using powers of attorney. Monitor or trace the location of goods. Assist clients in obtaining bonds and other necessary documentation. Arrange transportation or warehousing of imported products. Qualifications and Education Requirements At least one year of experience processing customs entries in ACE. Understanding of PGA requirements. Professional communication skills, both verbal and written. Proven understanding of the customs entry process requirements and flow. Customer-focused can-do attitude. Ability to follow standard operating procedures specific to a client. Physical Requirements The position is in an indoor office environment and requires the ability to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors verbally and in writing, sit for periods of time, and operate typical office equipment requiring vision and keyboard use.
