Job Description

The role involves setting up and operating manual lathes and mills to machine carbon steel parts and tooling. You will be responsible for reading blueprints and machining to tight tolerances, performing turning, drilling, boring, threading, and milling operations on steel materials, as well as building and repairing tooling and components. Inspecting parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges is also essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes and mills to machine carbon steel parts and tooling.

• Read blueprints and machine to tight tolerances.

• Perform turning, drilling, boring, threading, and milling operations on steel materials.

• Build and repair tooling and components.

• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in using conventional mills and lathes.

• Experience in machinist tool & die.

• Ability to set up machines.

• Competency in reading blueprints.

• Manual machining expertise.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 5 years of experience preferred.

• Basic shop math skills.

Work Environment

Work on the first shift from 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for overtime on Saturdays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vernon, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
