Senior GL Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior GL Accountant in Rockville, MD. Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Senior GL Accountant to support the general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations. This role will ensure the accuracy of financial records while partnering with the broader Accounting and Finance teams on reporting and process improvements. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain general ledger accounts and transactions
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial activity and investigate variances and discrepancies
- Assist with financial reporting and management reporting
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
- Support audit requests and provide required documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency
- 5+ years of progressive general ledger/accounting experience
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
- Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
