Job Title Registered Nurse – Palliative Care (Medical Surgical) Location New York, NY Schedule / Job Type Contract | 36 or 48 hours per week | Day, Evening, and Night rotating shifts | Weekends, holidays, and on-call per unit need Key Responsibilities Provide intensive symptom management and end-of-life care for adult patients (age 18 and up) with complex needs Perform astute patient assessments to advocate for patients who may no longer be able to speak for themselves Deliver skilled IV therapy and wound care interventions Support and manage patients with complex medical needs and families in crisis Operate and monitor patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps as needed Care for general medicine overflow patients as unit needs require Required Qualifications Active New York State (NYS) Registered Nurse (RN) License Minimum of 2 years of recent palliative care or acute medical/surgical nursing experience Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) Strong IV skills and wound care proficiency Demonstrated compassion and ability to support patients and families through end-of-life care Preferred Experience / Skills Experience with patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) certification Why Join Us Opportunity to make a meaningful impact providing compassionate, specialized care to patients and families during critical end-of-life transitions Telemetry experience is not required, making this an accessible opportunity for qualified palliative and med/surg RNs Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 772461.
