Position Description The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension includes highly trainedand experienced faculty that specialize in the management of avariety of kidney-related issues ranging from electrolytedisturbances, acid-base disorders, hypertension, kidney stones,glomerulonephritis, toxicities, chronic kidney disease, and otherrare and complex disorders to comprehensive kidney transplant careand expertise. Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor andapplicable salary are dependent upon candidate’s qualifications andexperience. Major/Essential Functions Performs a comprehensive physical examination, and compilespatient medical data, including health history. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic kidney diseases, provideongoing monitoring and treatment plans. Educate patients and their families about kidney health anddisease prevention. Develops and implements patient management plans, recordsprogress notes, and works as part of a multidisciplinary team. Adheres to institutional and departmental policies andprocedures. Participate in teaching and lectures for fellows, residents andmedical students. Required Qualifications MD/DO or equivalent. Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal MedicineResidency. Completion of, or in the process of completing, an ACGME accredited Nephrology Fellowship. Ability to obtain a Texas License. Foreign Medical Graduates Only: ECFMG Certification OREquivalency Certification.
