Project Manager – Multifamily Construction Location: Chicago, IL (Projects throughout Chicago proper) Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 base salary + annual bonus + comprehensive benefits + 401(k) About the Company We are a well-established Chicago-based general contractor with more than three decades of experience delivering high-quality construction projects across a variety of markets, including multifamily, commercial, hospitality, retail, healthcare, and adaptive reuse. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of ground-up multifamily construction projects throughout the Chicago market. This individual will manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring schedules, budgets, quality standards, and client expectations are met while working closely with field teams, subcontractors, architects, and ownership. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Chicago, with regular visits to local job sites. Responsibilities Manage multiple ground-up multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through final completion. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts. Lead subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and buyout activities. Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation. Collaborate with Superintendents to ensure project milestones, quality standards, and safety expectations are achieved. Maintain strong communication with owners, architects, engineers, and project stakeholders. Monitor project financial performance, identify risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Utilize Procore to manage project documentation, reporting, and communication. Coordinate project closeout activities, punch lists, warranties, and turnover documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. 7 years of experience as a Project Manager Proven experience managing ground-up multifamily construction projects. Proficiency with Procore is required. Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and project controls. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
