DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position focuses on managing and resolving employer account issues within the UC Tax system. The role requires independent analysis, application of UC law, and ongoing problem solving. As an Unemployment Compensation Tax Technician, you will perform the following duties: Account Management: Review employer account information and take action to maintain accurate records Experience Rating Work: Apply experience rating rules by examining data and calculating applicable rates Issue Resolution: Research account discrepancies and recommend adjustments or further investigation Customer Support: Respond to employer inquiries by researching issues and preparing clear written guidance Process Improvement: Provide feedback that supports improvements to business processes and practices Team Collaboration: Participate in meetings, training sessions, and special projects as assigned Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours may vary based on operational needs. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Successful completion of the Unemployment Compensation Tax Technician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of experience in maintaining financial records, bookkeeping, tax preparation, or clerical accounting; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
