Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team. The PTA will be responsible for directing, modifying, and administering physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. This role involves the administration of treatments and physical modalities as directed following a patient evaluation by the Physical Therapist.

The PTA plays a crucial role in assisting patients to restore their functionality and prevent disabilities resulting from injuries, diseases, or physical impairments. This position aims to help patients achieve their maximum performance and adapt to living within their capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer treatments and physical agents as prescribed by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients in restoring functionality and promote independence.
• Participate in operational aspects of the department, including performance improvement activities.
• Engage in infection control practices and departmental training.
• Participate in organizational training and fire safety programs.
• Provide care and support to a diverse patient population, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.

Position Qualifications

• Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)-accredited PTA program.
• Completion of a 2-year degree covering essential topics such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, and clinical pathology.
• Preferred experience in a similar role, though not required.
• Active licensure in good standing in Alaska as a Physical Therapist Assistant or completion of appropriate FSBPT paperwork for students awaiting licensure exam.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Information

New employees will not receive guaranteed hours during the first week due to orientation schedules. All traveling personnel must provide proof of completed COVID vaccinations.
