X-Ray Technician

Job Overview The X‑Ray Technician is a trained medical professional performing radiological duties in compliance with regulatory and departmental requirements. Responsibilities Position patient under X‑ray machine, adjust immobilization devices, and provide radiation protection. Adjust switches regulating length and intensity of exposure. Assist physicians with patient care activities such as procedures, EKGs, phlebotomy, and injections. Prepare reports and maintain records of services rendered. Maintain radiological film files and storage, pull X‑rays as required for referrals or copying. Keep logs for X‑rays sent out for referrals and consolidate logs. Maintain supplies, equipment, practice OSHA safety standards, and document accurately, legally, and ethically. Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent oral and written communication skills and empathy toward patients. Collaborative with team members (doctors, nurses, front desk staff, center managers). Problem‑solving mindset focused on patient satisfaction and team goals. Knowledge of medical products, services, standards, policies, and procedures. Skill operating phones, personal computers, software, and other IT systems. Detail‑oriented for accurate reporting and data. Organized systems to ensure timely patient flow. Calm in busy or stressful situations. Ability to travel locally when covering multiple centers. Education and Experience Criteria Graduate from an accredited Radiological Technology program or Basic X‑Ray Machine Operator required. Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. Minimum 1 year X‑ray technologist experience in a healthcare environment required; 2 years preferred. Licensed and/or certified if required by state regulations. EMR system experience preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within 90 days of employment.
