Facility Supervisor

The Facility Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of facility systems, equipment, and building infrastructure to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant environment. This position supervises maintenance personnel, coordinates preventive maintenance programs, manages work orders, and ensures adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily activities of maintenance and plant services staff. Plan, assign, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance work for facility systems and equipment. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and utility systems. Inspect facilities and equipment regularly to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns. Prioritize and schedule work orders to minimize operational disruptions. Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, environmental standards, and organizational policies. Train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance staff performance. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers for specialized repairs and projects. Maintain maintenance records, equipment histories, and regulatory documentation. Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets, inventory, and purchasing activities. Respond to emergency maintenance situations and coordinate corrective actions. Support facility improvement projects, renovations, and capital equipment installations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems. Understanding of safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and maintenance best practices. Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Effective verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions Work may be performed in industrial, manufacturing, or commercial facilities. Frequent walking, standing, climbing, lifting equipment, and working in varying environmental conditions. May require on-call availability, evenings, weekends, or emergency response duties. High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or technical certification in facilities maintenance, engineering technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred. 3-7 years of facility, plant operations, or maintenance experience. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is desirable.
