By working together as one team, we provide compassionate, high-quality care tailored to the unique needs of every child and family.ResponsibilitiesJob Summary: The Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) is responsible for understanding the treatment plan as outlined by the dentist and providing patient care within their scope of practice. The EFDA is required to provide appropriate care and address and communicate appropriate treatment information to other team members. Additionally, the EFDA will maintain equipment, supplies, cleanliness and efficiency of the office.Responsibilities:Perform the following within the regulations within the scope of practice of your license including, but are not limited to:Demonstrate the ability to properly perform restorations and sealants properlyDemonstrate proper isolationDemonstrate the ability to properly perform coronal polishing and apply fluorideDemonstrate the ability to properly place and remove rubber dams, matrices, & wedgesDemonstrate the ability to properly apply cavity liners and basesLearn and understand how to place Denovos/ImpressionsProvide patient and parent/guardian homecare instructionsPrepare area for each patient's needs prior to each caseUnderstand the patient scheduling and office flow to ensure that appointments proceedThoroughly review patient's charts prior to their procedure including the reason and necessity of visit, medical history, x-ray requirement, special considerations from previous visits and provide necessary information to the treating dentistAdditional job duties as assigned by managementQualificationsWhat you'll Need:Graduate of an approved school of EFDACurrent EFDA license in state of practice, with license in good standingCurrent DANB Radiology (x-ray) certificationCPR certificationCustomer Service Experience – Friendly and helpful demeanor with patients and co-workers.Flexibility – Must adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.Ability to work well under stressful situationsMust be available to travel to other locations to meet operational needsPreferred, but not required:Knowledge of electronic dental records and practice management systems, specifically DenticonPediatric experienceDental office experienceSchedule: Monday-Thursday 7:45am-5:45pm Fridays and Saturdays as neededCompensation: Starting at $31.00Location: Wyomissing, PA
