The Avionics Technician III is an entry-level position ideal for new graduates from Avionics or A&P technology schools. Also ideal for mechanics with less than five years of aircraft experience. Our Step-Level Progression training program can help you acquire your FAA airframe license.
WORK LOCATION: Onsite at AAR (at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, OK.)
SCHEDULE (Full-Time/non-exempt and variable, 40 - 50-hour workweek)
Supervisor determines shift/days required, but we can discuss in interview process. Typically, more flexible candidates will be preferred.
1st Shift: 7:30am to 4:00pm or 5:30am to 4:00pm
2nd Shift: 3:30pm to 12:00am or 3:30pm to 2:00am
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform basic aircraft maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks under supervision
Ensure aircraft are safely maintainedin accordance with the Airworthiness Standards
Use FAA approved/accepted data (i.e., IPC, M/M, OHM, SRM) proficiently
Maintain records in compliance with FAA and company requirements
Perform avionics repairs as assigned while meeting deadlines and quality standards
Read and follow technical publications, schematics, and/or mechanical drawings
Use a PC, iPad and basic computer applications and programs
Additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management
Adherence to work schedule, punctuality, and self-motivation

Qualifications:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS
2 years avionics experience required
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Some general maintenance experience (including relevant experience outside of aviation)
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are crucial
Able to skillfully use the minimum tools required
Fluent in English (speech, reading, writing)
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant license (A&P)
Valid Driver's License
Knowledge of FAA regulations including 14 CFR

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Constantly: Lifting 10 lbs., standing, walking, wrist flexion and extension, environmental weather conditions.
Frequently: Lifting =40 lbs., push/pull <20 lbs., climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling for extended periods, working in confined spaces. Working above chest-level, overhead, and away from body for extended periods. Bending, twisting of torso, twisting and/or pressure with wrist/hands, fine finger usage, moderate vibrations up to 2 hrs. to high vibrations up to 30 mins. Vision with/without correction; near <20", far >20', and basic depth perception (shapes). Working at elevated heights =4', working on ladders, scaffolding, uneven surfaces, and energized parts.
Occasionally: Lifting and/or carry =50 lbs., sitting, basic color vision, operation of motorized or electrical equipment, push/pull <50 lbs., work in wet conditions.
