About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 2 Years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Recent ICU experience required. Driver's license required. Description: Two years of recent ICU experience is required. Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius. Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of contract. All RNs must pass a mandatory exam during orientation to maintain employment. The unit consists of a total of 34 beds. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1-2 in ICU and 1:4-5 in PCU. Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, and various surgeries. RNs are required to titrate drips including vasopressors and sedation. Charge nurses are present on each shift and may take patient assignments. Patient care techs are available on the unit with specified duties. RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry monitors. Shifts are scheduled by unit managers based on needs. Weekend work is required every other week. Holiday requirements include working two out of three major holidays. RNs may need to float to other inpatient units as needed. Scrubs will be navy blue. The unit operates in a fast-paced environment with a focus on high-quality care. Successful candidates should possess critical thinking skills and a positive attitude. Team collaboration is emphasized for patient care. Requests for time off must be provided upfront and additional requests are not permitted. The hospital reserves the right to cancel shifts as necessary. Charting system utilized is EPIC.
