The role involves delivering coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients.
Care is provided according to established standards and the nursing process.
The position supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff.
Coordination of care with other disciplines is essential while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion.
Responsibilities include collecting relevant health data and analyzing it to determine diagnoses and care issues.
A plan must be developed that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes.
Care delivery must be implemented and coordinated while promoting health and a safe environment.
The position evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes and identifies specific outcomes for the patient situation.
Collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare providers is needed to ensure a safe and caring environment.
The role also provides learning opportunities for patients and team members.
Health information must be directly communicated to patients and families, as well as the treatment team.
Participation in discharge planning is required to provide continuity of care.
The role involves appropriate delegation and coordination of duties among healthcare team members.
Additional job-related duties may be assigned as needed.
Safety and wellbeing of all associates and patients are prioritized.
All associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment, with potential exemptions.
Participation in E-Verify is part of employment requirements.
This unit provides general acute care for a mix of medical and surgical patients.
Patient population guidelines specify no greater than 65% medical or 65% surgical.
