Position: Shop Foreman Location: 2 Rivergreen Drive Job Id: 484 # of Openings: 2 Overview The Diesel Shop Foreman is responsible for thesupervision of technicians, manages daily repair workflows, and ensures safety/quality standards for heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment. Key responsibilities include assigning tasks, troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, managing parts inventory, and mentoring staff to maximize efficiency. This leadership role bridges technicians and management, typically requiring extensive diesel technical experience. Position Responsibilities Assigns daily work to diesel technicians based on skill levels, monitors progress and manages shop performance. Inspects finished repairs to ensure quality standards are met, road tests vehicles, and ensures compliance with all safety regulations (e.g., OSHA). Mentors, trains, and provides technical assistance to technicians regarding complex diagnostics and repairs. Maintains inventory of parts and supplies, orders necessary tools, and coordinates with customers or fleet managers regarding repairs. Tracks shop productivity, ensures repair orders are accurately documented, and manages maintenance schedules. Position Requirements Extensive experience (5+ years) as a diesel mechanic/technician, with a proven track record in leadership roles. Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostic tools, and electrical systems. Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Certifications or manufacturer‑specific training (e.g., Freightliner) are highly preferred.
