Our Morris Plains, NJ Store is actively seeking a PT Cash Office Clerk for their Cash Office! If you have cash handling experience and enjoy working within a retail, gourmet food store, we would love to hear from you! The primary purpose of the Cash Office Clerk on our Front End at Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace is to ensure the record and maintenance of financial records at the store level. This position requires a thorough understanding of A/P, A/R, experience sorting, coding and scanning a multitude of physical and/or digital invoices for vendors and accounts.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily safe counts
- Receive, break down and deliver funds by armored carrier;
- Responsible for gathering all information on payroll and updating our customized system
- Responsible for all bookkeeping opening/closing procedures
- Ensure daily cash packages are sent timely to the office
- Counts paper currency, change, and credit card receipts and totals against print outs for accuracy
- Prepare deposit slips
- Monitors and investigates discrepancies or errors
- Manage and reconcile the petty cash funds as well as cash funds as well as gas receipts for fleet card
- Other duties and functions as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working within a cash office or Accounting office
- Detail oriented, problem solver, excellent time management skills and a positive attitude
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and other related software and programs as it relates to the position
