Civil Engineer

Civil Staff Engineer (EIT)McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Civil Staff Engineer (EIT) to join our team. This role involves supporting civil engineering and design development for a variety of McMillen projects, including dams, fish passage and screening facilities, fish hatcheries, bridges, and other water resources-related projects. The Civil Staff Engineer will work under the direction of project engineers and project managers, applying a range of design engineering techniques, modeling methods, and construction support services to successfully deliver fisheries and water resources projects for federal agencies, local municipalities, and private utility companies.Responsibilities:Collect data and gather relevant information and documentationPerform standard computations and analysesComplete basic design tasksPrepare drawings and visual aidsAssist with tasks such as preparing permit applications, drawings, and written documentsPrepares portions of project documentationReviews and edits specificationsConducts research and investigationsObserves construction activities and field operationsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering requiredMaster's degree in Civil Engineering or related field requiredEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required0–5 years of civil design experience required; water resources-related experience is a plusKnowledge of engineering principles and construction materials related to water resources projectsAbility to read, interpret, and communicate contract documents, plans, and specificationsStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectivelyWillingness to travel up to 25% per monthAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, lead tasks, work independently, and remain self-motivatedRegular and predictable attendance is requiredPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
