Job Title University Police Officer 1 (PO1) – multiple positions open (Requisition R0145467). Role Summary Perform law‑enforcement duties to protect university employees, students, and the public. Duties include: Patrolling and safeguarding university properties and surrounding areas. Conducting traffic, criminal, and non‑criminal investigations. Preparing for security activities surrounding special events. Participating in court appearances and maintaining law and order. Performing maintenance on assigned equipment and special assignments related to peace‑officer functions. Required Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of public‑contact experience applying rules, regulations, or established procedures.
• Valid driver’s license at time of appointment and as a continuing employment condition.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, psychological testing (including polygraph), and the Nevada POST Physical Fitness Test.
• Meet minimum standards for appointment as a peace officer as established in Nevada Revised Statutes and Administrative Code.
• Inability to hold an uninterrupted supervisory or leadership experience is acceptable; candidates will be evaluated on training and certifications.

Salary Grade 36 Step 1, salary $67,901.76. Salary begins at Step 1 according to Nevada Administrative Code NAC 284.170.
