Enhanced Cooking Thermal Management Graduate Assistant - Fall 2026 - ATAS

Job Description The Aerospace, Transportation and Advanced Systems (ATAS) Laboratory is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Fall 2026. The Graduate Assistant will investigate a thermal science/heat thesis scope that entails developing real-time, (primarily) physics-based approaches to modeling and simulating food product temperature field (inclusive of core temperature) evolution while being heated/cooked. The work would also interface state-of-the-art thermal imaging attempts to capture evolving surface temperature contours as a temporal boundary condition. Required Minimum Qualifications Pursuing a Master's degree or PhD at Georgia Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Must be registered for at least 3+ credit hours with your university. Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA. Preferred Qualifications Experience in 1 or more programming languages. Interest/affinity for thermal systems design. Task / team leadership experience. Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts. Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas.
