Safety and Occupational Health Manager

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an experienced Safety and Occupational Health Manager to lead site-wide programs at its Summit, New Jersey facility. The role involves developing and executing safety policies, conducting risk and ergonomics assessments across manufacturing and laboratory environments, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position requires expertise in pharmaceutical operations, GMP standards, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational risk assessment and ergonomics assessment programs across office, manufacturing, laboratory, and warehouse settings
• Perform hazard, risk, exposure, and ergonomic assessments for current and future processes using change management documentation
• Support daily operations across Summit campus including GMP cell therapy manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, Warehouse, and Quality Control labs
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, safety, and health regulations and standards
• Conduct incident investigations, develop corrective actions, and participate in regulatory inspections and audits

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum five years EHS experience in GMP manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or R&D
• Minimum five years broad EHS experience with occupational safety and industrial hygiene foundation
• Minimum three years conducting facility and laboratory audits
• Minimum two years performing ergonomic assessments and implementing corrective actions
• Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies, inspectors, and external auditors
• CSP, CIH, or CHMM certification preferred
