School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Full Time The Speech, Language, and Learning Servicesdepartmentat Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center (CHSC) ishiring afull-time (40 hours/week)speech-language pathologist for charter school services. The start date of the position is ASAP. A highly prepared clinical fellow will be considered. This positionfollows the school year calendar, with summers off,and is benefits eligible. Pay Range : $55,000 - $62,000 annually Purpose ofJob: Managestudent care involvingindividualswith verbal, nonverbal, cognitive-linguistic, speech, language, reading/writing, and/or social communication disorders including assessing abilities and needs with ETRs as well as developing and implementing IEP goals to improve the student’s communicative ability, efficiency, and/or effectiveness. Major Duties and Expectations 1. Assess and diagnoseabilities and needs students have in regard to Speech sound production (including intelligibility, fluency, prosody, voice quality, etc.). Language abilities (including understanding and using oral and written modalities). Cognitive-linguistic communication skills (including attention, memory, reasoning, problem-solvingdisorders, etc.). Pragmatic skills 2. Determine the nature and extent of needs using: Written and oral tests (standardized and non-standardized). Dynamic assessment Qualitative assessment Special instruments or methods designed to record and analyze speech, language, and voice skills. 3. Develop and implementIEPs related to each student’s needs which may include: Familiarity with Individual or group treatment formats. Useofmultimodal communication methods, such as augmentative or alternative communication devices/strategies (includinghigh- and low-techdevices and sign language). Ability to conferwith outside agencies as necessary to coordinate the care of the student/family. 4. Develop and maintainaccurate, thorough clinical records in a timely manner including, but not limited to: Evaluation Team Reports (ETRs) Daily documentation and Medicaid billing Progress notes, and summaries 5. Counseland communicatewith student, family, and educational professionalson all aspects of care as appropriate, including: Evaluation (methods, results, and recommendations). Treatment (methods, facilitating strategies, progress, carry-over). Discharge (plans, rationale, methods, expectations, and additional resources). Education/Experience/Skills A Master’s degree in SLP from a program accredited by the ASHA Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) is required OhioSLP license or provisional licenseis required Ohio Department of EducationPupil Serviceslicenseor registration Proficiency in Ohio school documentation and procedures.
