Associate Legal Counsel

Genesco Sports Enterprises is a leading sports marketing consulting agency representing some of the world's most recognizable brands — including Fortune 500 companies across the beverage, automotive, telecommunications, and financial services industries — in their sports sponsorship and marketing initiatives. Our legal team sits at the center of fast-moving, high-visibility deals across professional and collegiate sports and cultural events. About the Role We are seeking an Associate Counsel to join our in‑house legal team in Dallas. The attorney in this role will support client sponsorship programs through the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements, with a particular focus on activation and hospitality agreements. This position works directly with marketing, brand, and account teams, providing practical, business‑minded legal guidance in a fast‑paced agency environment. It is an excellent opportunity for a newer attorney to build transactional experience, gain direct client exposure, and develop expertise in the sports marketing, activation and sponsorship industry. Key Responsibilities Draft, review, redline, and negotiate activation, hospitality, sponsorship, promotional, consumer engagement, talent services, and venue licensing agreements Provide day‑to‑day legal guidance on advertising, marketing, and promotional matters for major corporate clients Serve as a legal point of contact for internal marketing, brand, and account teams, flagging legal and reputational risk early and offering workable solutions Advise on intellectual property and trademark considerations in sponsorship and promotional contexts Support sweepstakes, contests, and other consumer promotions, including compliance with applicable state and federal law Support data privacy and AI compliance for employee and consumer‑facing operations Assist with employment‑related matters and other general corporate legal needs as they arise Help coordinate with and manage outside counsel on specialized matters Qualifications Required: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school Licensed to practice in Texas or eligible for admission 1–3 years of transactional legal experience (law firm or in‑house) Strong contract drafting, redlining, and negotiation skills Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines with attention to detail Clear, practical communication style, with the ability to translate legal risk into business terms for non‑lawyers Preferred: Experience with sponsorship, advertising/marketing, sports, media, or entertainment transactions Familiarity with promotions law (sweepstakes/contests) or IP licensing Comfort operating with autonomy in a lean legal department #J-18808-Ljbffr
