Staff - Registered Nurse (RN) - Director of Nursing - $120K-160K per year

Role Overview Gentiva is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Director of Nursing for a nursing job in Bellevue, Washington. This RN Hospice Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for an assigned hospice location with developing census. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Provides hands‑on leadership for a hospice program with growth opportunity, accountable for clinical quality, operational performance, and sustainable census expansion. Incorporates continuous quality improvement principles in day‑to‑day activities. Uses statistical and qualitative information to manage quality and promotes compliance with accrediting, licensing and regulatory agencies. Ensures policies and procedures are followed and recommends and implements relevant policies and procedures. Manages human resources effectively: promotes positive communications, provides orientation and ongoing education, conducts educational programs, recommends qualified staff, collaborates with the Administrator on hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions and fair workload distribution. Manages office operations: directs teams, plans and organizes tasks, sets strategic goals, monitors progress, selects outside services, maintains vendor contracts, evaluates performance, ensures accurate documentation, supervises quality of patient care, handles emergency calls, reviews safety policies, and investigates incidents. Manages financial resources prudently: completes financial reviews, manages budgets, controls overtime and temporary personnel, justifies budget variances and seeks cost reduction without affecting quality. Qualifications Registered Nurse with a minimum of an associate’s degree in nursing; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. Minimum one year of management/supervisory experience; two or more years in hospice/home care required; three or more years in direct patient care preferred. Experience in hospice regulations, compliance, Medicare conditions of participation and interdisciplinary operations management. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills and a commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care. Current state nursing license, CPR certification, valid driver’s license and automobile insurance. Compensation and Benefits Salary: $145,000 to $160,000 plus quarterly bonus potential adding up to 20% of annual salary.
