The Tone This is a full-time, onsite Staff Accountant role at Absolute EMS Inc., located in Santa Clara, CA. Absolute EMS is a well-established Silicon Valley leader in electronic manufacturing services, providing high-reliability, turnkey solutions for medical, industrial, networking, and advanced technology industries. This Staff Accountant position is critical for managing core accounting processes, ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting essential for the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. The TL;DR Role: Early Career Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt Location: In-person Santa Clara, CA Pay: $28–$38 hourly Team: Reports directly to our CPA. Mission: Owns core accounting processes across accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, job costing, and purchase/sales orders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Tech Stack: Expandable ERP, Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation), Microsoft Office Suite, AI-assisted tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT/Claude) is a plus. What You’ll Actually Do Financial Record Management: Prepare, examine, and analyze comprehensive accounting records, financial statements, and various financial reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and strict conformance to established reporting standards. Core Accounting Process Oversight: Systematically manage all key accounting processes pertaining to accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, job costing, and the lifecycle of purchase/sales orders, consistently adhering to company-wide systems and procedural guidelines. ERP System Management: Take ownership of developing, implementing, and meticulously maintaining robust recordkeeping and accounting processes specifically within the Expandable ERP software environment. Reconciliation and Discrepancy Resolution: Conduct thorough and regular reconciliations of inventory, purchase/sales orders, and job costing accounts, actively investigating and promptly resolving any identified discrepancies. This also includes supporting shipping and receiving with inventory transactions and supporting the timely monthly close by reporting on any deviations. Analytical Reporting and Process Improvement: Compute, analyze, and clearly present financial data to provide actionable insights for management decisions. Proactively identify opportunities to streamline recurring, time-consuming tasks such as reconciliations, data entry, and reporting, and share these ideas with the CPA. The Must-Haves Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience preferred; recent graduates with demonstrated required skills will be considered. Experience with Expandable ERP software is required. Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data validation; strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated strong attention to detail in financial documentation, robust mathematics skills, and excellent reading/writing comprehension. Sound judgment and critical thinking abilities to proactively identify and resolve complex accounting discrepancies, combined with effective verbal and written communication skills across departments. Bonus: Prior experience in an electronics manufacturing or job-costing environment, familiarity with cash flow projections and financial resource management, and an interest in how technology and automation are shaping accounting work with an eagerness to keep learning. #J-18808-Ljbffr
