Location:  Santa Clara, CA

Job Type:  Full-time, Non-Exempt

Schedule: 100% onsite

Compensation: $28 to $38 per hour, depending on education and experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our accounting operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role manages core accounting processes across accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, job costing, and purchase/sales orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

You will work closely with accounting, purchasing, and operations teams to maintain accurate financial records, support month-end close, and help ensure the integrity of data within our ERP system.   This role reports directly to our CPA, with strong potential for growth as you build your accounting and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting standards
• Manage accounting processes for accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, job costing, and purchase/sales orders in compliance with company systems and procedures
• Develop, implement, and maintain recordkeeping and accounting processes using Expandable ERP software
• Reconcile inventory, purchase/sales orders, and job costing accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Support timely monthly close, including reporting on any deviations
• Compute, analyze, and present financial data to inform management decisions; suggest process improvements as appropriate
• Conduct inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies; support shipping and receiving with inventory transactions
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with staff across departments
• Help identify opportunities to streamline recurring, time-consuming tasks (reconciliations, data entry, reporting) and share ideas with the CPA
• Comfortable using AI-assisted tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT/Claude) to support analysis and reporting is a plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred; recent graduates with demonstrated required skills will be considered
• Experience with Expandable ERP software required 
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation) and strong Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
• Strong attention to detail, mathematics, and reading/writing comprehension for financial documentation
• Sound judgment and critical thinking to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Ability to sit for extended periods, use a computer throughout the day, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
• Comfort with, or strong interest in learning, AI tools and process efficiencies

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in an electronics manufacturing or job-costing environment
• Familiarity with cash flow projections and financial resource management
• Interest in how technology and automation are shaping accounting work, and eagerness to keep learning
