Work Schedule: 2nd ShiftJob Responsibilities: Assist the supervisor with the day to day operations of the Hematology /Coagulationarea of the Core LabSend daily, weekly and monthly productions reports to managementAssist with the training of new hires and the development of current employeesKeep supervisor informed of group progress, problems, employee performance and any significant factors affecting assigned responsibilitiesDetermine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteriaPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPsMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionalityPrepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controlsReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient carePerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresIdentify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessaryAssist with processing of specimens when neededMaintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipmentMinimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology2 years or more of experience as a TechnicianPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degreeASCP and/or AMT Certifications1 years or more of experience supervising or leading a teamAdditional Job Standards:In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirementUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication skills; both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skillsComfortability making decisions in a changing environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionAble to pass a standardized color blindness testAre you an experienced clinical laboratory professional looking for leadership opportunity?
