Private Duty Nurse - RN

Registered Nurse – RN Join one of the largest private duty nursing companies in the nation. Position Overview Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering and documenting skilled nursing care in accordance with the care plan and physicians' orders for each patient. The RN must comply with confidentiality standards, professional boundaries, state regulations, and Aveanna policies at all times. Essential Job Functions Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders. Continuously observe and assess patient condition, reporting changes to the supervisor or physician as appropriate. Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care promptly. Develop, implement, and update the nursing care plan. Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes. Recognize changes in patient needs and intervene to prevent or reduce risk. Comply with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act. Utilize infection control measures that protect staff and patients according to OSHA standards. Educate patients and families about disease processes, self‑care, and prevention strategies. Maintain competency in nursing practice through participation in educational programs and continuing education. Requirements Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing. Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice. Current CPR certification. Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies. Additional State Specific Requirements South Carolina – One year of pediatric experience. California – One year of experience required while working under a current nursing license. Louisiana – One year of experience required while working as a licensed nurse. Continuing education as required by state. Additional Discipline Specific Requirements Medical Oncology RN – 2 years of experience with cardiac monitoring and oncology. Ambulatory RN – 2 years of experience with vital assessment, care planning, and telephone triage. Medical Surgical RN – 2 years of Registered Nurse experience. Peri‑Operative Care RN – 2 years of experience, preferably with oncology experience. Preferences Six months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical setting. Home health experience. Other Skills/Abilities Attention to detail. Time management. Effective problem‑solving and conflict resolution. Good organization and communication skills. Physical Requirements Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English. Must be able to travel and lift 50 pounds. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, twist, climb stairs, and sit for extended periods. Must have visual and hearing acuity, strong sense of smell and touch. Must reposition patients and move equipment without assistance. Must respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport. Environment Must function in varied environments involving exposure to allergens and other conditions. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
