Forterra is the go-to provider of ground autonomy solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense, which harnesses the technology for asymmetric warfare in critical conditions.About the RoleThe Senior Accounting Analyst is a hybrid role combining accounting fundamentals with systems, process, and reporting ownership. This position will help build scalable financial reporting processes, support month-end close, including strengthening internal controls over revenue and equity, and partner with developers and finance to improve data quality and reporting. The role is critical to enhancing audit readiness and reducing reliance on external consultants as we prepare for public-company requirements.What You'll DoMonthly Close & AccountingPrepare and post selected journal entries (revenue, equity, debt, goodwill/intangibles)Own assigned balance sheet reconciliations and review select other reconciliationsSupport AR and revenue close activities as needed, including ASC 606 revenue analyses and a review of aged receivablesAssist in the preparation of consolidated monthly and annual financial statements, including tie-out schedulesRevenue & Equity Process OwnershipStrengthen documentation for revenue recognition, including milestone evidence and input-method supporting schedulesAssist in implementing a consistent input-based revenue model aligned with policyEstablish recurring controls and reconciliations for Carta (grants, vesting, forfeitures)Perform periodic reviews of unit-based compensation reports and equity rollforwardsSystems, Data, and ReportingMap and optimize NetSuite data flows for revenue, equity, and reportingPartner with developers to enhance reporting architecture and operational visibilityAssist with building monthly reporting packages and driver-based analyticsContribute to improvements in the chart of accounts, dimensions, and system structureProcess Improvement & ControlsDevelop process documentation and workflow diagramsIdentify automation opportunities and work with cross-functional teams to implement solutionsSupport SOX readiness and internal control developmentHelp address and remediate audit findings related to revenue and equityQualificationsSolid grounding in GAAP, revenue recognition concepts, and internal controlsExperience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)Strong analytic skills; comfortable with data manipulation (Excel, SQL, or BI tools a plus)Ability to work with developers and translate accounting requirements into system logicStrong communication skills and curiosity to understand process flows end-to-endPreferred Qualifications2–4 years of Big Four audit or advisory experience strongly preferredEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldUS Salary Range $120,000.00—$150,000.00The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more.
