We try things, openly discuss and learn from mistakes and failure, experiment and iterate to achieve our aspirations.The Opportunity:As Portfolio Leader you will focus on providing Portfolio Strategy, Portfolio Management and Portfolio Insights & Analytics to partners across Pharma and the Roche enterprise. You will be expected to closely collaborate with colleagues in relevant groups beyond PSM in co-creating deliverables. You will also be involved in the development and application of analytical tools, financial models, and data-driven insights to shape the Pharma portfolio. Key accountabilities for team members include, but are not limited to, a combination of the following areas:Strategic investment analysis - Provide analytical expertise to evaluate strategic options, leveraging financial modeling (rNPV, scenario analysis, trade-off optimization) to quantify risk, asset value, and competitive positioning that guide capital allocation decisions.Strategy support - Partner with Pharma Leaders to co-create and deliver robust portfolio and business strategies that provide the scaffolding for Pharma portfolio decisionsPortfolio assessments and presentations - Manage and communicate portfolio dynamics (risk, value, mix, competitive positioning etc.) to inform portfolio decisions and strategy updates. Develop portfolio content and actionable insights presented to Executive Leadership.Decision support and valuation - Active thought partner to teams and decision-makers including, defining/scoping of tactics to deliver on defined business strategiesDecision management and ecosystem architecture - Ensure decision quality by architecting the path to a decision, the decision making model, and portfolio prioritization. Design/evolve advice seeking and fit-for-purpose engagement opportunities, and develop/evolve resources and guidance to support decision making and portfolio management.Insights & analytics - Design, develop and improve portfolio metrics, analytics, and dynamic visualizations that enable operational efficiency and optimal decision-making and targeted communications. In addition, provide and update guidance on valuation and risk methodologies used by teams and decision-makers. Key deliverables include quarterly Pharma Portfolio Reports, annual R&D performance benchmarking, business planning and ad hoc requests.Who You AreBachelor's degree in Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, Engineering, or a similar quantitative discipline; Advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA) highly preferredStrong understanding of disease/drug development to translate competitive/industry insights into actions.You have strong experience using a combination of quantitative rigor and collaborative partnership across matrixed technical teams (including Finance, Data Science, and Informatics) to ensure strategic models are translated into actionable portfolio delivery.You apply financial modeling and decision analysis to guide portfolio management decisions in the pharma/biotech or similar industryYou have proven experience with tools like Python, R, and Tableau to you automate analytical workflows and generate predictive portfolio insightsPreferred QualificationsYou are a dedicated and passionate individual, driven by our shared purpose of co-creating and delivering the portfolio for the benefit of patients.You thrive in environments of ambiguity and collaboration where authority and accountability is distributed between all of the people involved and where advice seeking is foundational.You are an effective communicator who shares information transparently and strategically. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
