* Simple Staffing is hiring for this position on behalf of Maple Villa LTCC * Under the direction of the Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor, the Housekeeping Aide is responsible for the cleanliness all areas of the facility by following housekeeping and infection control procedures. Salary: $22.93 per hour Core Competencies: Accountability/Dependability Communication Customer Service Risk Management Teamwork Qualifications: Must have a grade 12 secondary school diploma Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education Experience with environmental programs preferred Must demonstrate good communication skills Must understand oral and written instructions Hours of Work: Available 7 days/week Flexible hours Main Duties and Responsibilities: Performs duties of housekeeping services as per job routines Participates as required in the formulation and review of policies and procedures, goals and objectives Performs delegated tasks safely and effectively Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the facility by completing on a routine basis the scheduled cleaning of all areas of the facility unless otherwise indicated Follows established cleaning procedures and comply to procedures stated in the infection control section of the Housekeeping and Laundry Services policy and procedure manual as well as established safety guidelines Responsible for the reporting of any concerns regarding the daily routine, equipment malfunctions, required building repairs and safety concerns to the Environmental Services Manager and/or Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor Participates as a team player and cooperates with other departments Responsible for maintaining a sanitary environment Follows daily routines established to meet the objectives of the department Completes records regarding department responsibilities Ensures a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff Attends and participates in interdisciplinary care conferences as required Ensures a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff Participates in facility committees Willing to perform a variety of tasks assigned Required to promote wellness as a concept of living Works cooperatively with students and volunteers to enhance resident care and foster community linkages Participates in the orientation process for residents, students, volunteers, and staff Human Resources Models positive working relationships with team members. Actively participates in the education program by adhering to training requirements outlined by the home. Works cooperatively with students and volunteers to enhance resident care and foster community linkages. Participates in the orientation process for residents, students, volunteers, and staff. Care Coordination. Effectively participates in conferences with the interdisciplinary team as required. Contributes to positive customer services with residents, families/Substitute Decision Makers (SDMs) and visitors in day-to-day work. Occupational Health and Safety Complies with the legislative, regulatory and internal responsibilities as set forth in the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including health and safety, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Workplace Violence, Fitness for Duty etc. Advises supervisor/designate immediately of any incident that may result in an Occupational Accident Claim, any concerns with the physical plant, incidents or injuries and completes required forms. Ensures a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Required to promote wellness as a concept of living. Quality Management Contributes to an environment of continuous improvement by providing feedback / suggestions and engaging in implementation.
