Creative Director

Profluent, an AI lab for biology, seeks a Creative Director to establish and lead the company's brand identity and creative output. This player-coach role involves managing the creative function end-to-end—from concept through publication—while building a small team over time, working closely with leadership to communicate frontier science to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own creative vision and strategy, translating frontier science into brand presence and public communications
• Direct all creative projects from concept through completion, balancing scientific accuracy with visual impact
• Develop and evolve visual identity system including design standards, typography, color, and motion language
• Manage creative budget and hire, lead, and mentor designers, producers, and external contractors
• Art direct and produce photography, video, and multimedia content for announcements and releases

Requirements

• Proven experience leading creative functions and building creative teams
• Strong portfolio demonstrating visual design, video production, and brand development
• Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling, accessible communications
• Experience managing vendors, contractors, and creative budgets
• Proficiency in design tools and content creation across multiple mediums
• Strategic thinking about brand positioning and visual identity systems
