APP ( NP or PA) - Specialty Practice - Psychiatry

Position Overview Full‑time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) opportunity at Carilion Clinic St. Albans Hospital in Christiansburg, VA. PMHNP preferred, but FNPs and PAs are also considered. Three 12‑hour shifts (7 a.m.-7 p.m.) covering Friday/Saturday and Sunday. The unit is a 36‑bed inpatient mental health unit with an integrated outpatient practice. The APP reports to the Section Chief and is a member of the behavioral health team. Responsibilities Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients in the inpatient unit and outpatient practice. Collaborate with physicians and other health‑care providers as part of the behavioral health team. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system. Participate in unit and team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing training. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (PMHNP, FNP, PA). Current state licensed Nurse Practitioner (LNP) with DEA license and RN licensure. Valid AHA BLS‑HCP certification (Advanced Life Support preferred). Eligibility for prescriptive authority as authorized by state regulations. Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively. Computer literacy required, including proficiency with electronic medical records. Experience: 0 years required (optional additional experience may be considered).
