We are looking for a Controller to lead core financial operations for a multi-entity real estate organization in West Palm Beach, Florida. This role oversees accounting, cash management, payroll administration, insurance coordination, and lender reporting while helping maintain accurate records across a diverse property portfolio. The position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can manage deadlines, support compliance obligations, and assume ownership of responsibilities during a planned leadership transition.

Responsibilities:
• Direct the monthly accounting cycle, including journal entries, account reconciliations, close activities, and allocations among related entities.
• Produce timely cash flow summaries for each asset, monitor daily liquidity needs, and address funding gaps across accounts.
• Develop annual property-level budgets with capital planning assumptions and analyze operating results against forecasts.
• Prepare financial packages for lenders, investors, and partners on a quarterly and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Administer banking activities such as account oversight, reconciliations, payment approvals, credit card review, and coordination with banking contacts.
• Oversee the company’s insurance program by tracking renewals, reviewing coverage terms, confirming certificates, allocating shared premiums, and managing claims through resolution.
• Support human resources and payroll operations by maintaining employee records, coordinating onboarding, administering benefits-related updates, and processing biweekly payroll with required reconciliations.
• Maintain compliance reporting for loans and regulated entities, including surplus cash submissions, covenant tracking, insurance documentation, and construction draw follow-up.
• Coordinate year-end audit and tax support by compiling requested documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and tracking filing deadlines across entities and jurisdictions.
• Partner with the outgoing leader during the transition of accounting, treasury, payroll, and insurance responsibilities to ensure continuity and full ownership of the function.• Background in accounting leadership with experience supporting multiple entities, ideally within real estate development, real estate accounting, or property management environments.
• Strong command of month-end close, intercompany accounting, treasury management, and cash flow reporting.
• Experience preparing financial statements, lender packages, budgets, and variance analyses for asset-based businesses.
• Working knowledge of payroll processing, general ledger reconciliation, and employee record administration.
• Familiarity with insurance administration, including renewals, certificates of insurance, claims coordination, and policy tracking, is preferred.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and payroll or HRIS platforms, along with strong Excel and reporting skills.
• High level of accuracy, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities under recurring deadlines.
