Helpdesk TechnicianLocation: Herndon, VAClient: Telecommunications FirmContract Duration: 6 months w/ possibility of conversion to full-timeBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, and Paid HolidayPay: Up to $30/hr DOESchedule: Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 5:30 pm or 10:00 am - 6:00 pm EST - ONSITEThe Help Desk Support Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the operations status of all clients and mobile devices and peripherals for the organization. This individual will work closely with other members of the Information Technology Team (Network, Software Development, Unix, and Windows). The individual will perform administration and maintenance for hardware and software which allows for day-to-day operations of a global IT environment.Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software and applications problems via phone, email, and ticketing systemMaintain communications with employees throughout the problem resolution processCreate, modify, and manage Active Directory objects via Windows ServerDeploy hardware and software including imaging of Windows operating systems, software installation, restoration of user data, assembly, cable management, and peripheral connectionsDesktop and laptop hardware troubleshootingPerform inventory and asset tracking dutiesSupport company cybersecurity efforts on all clientsMaintain and update computer and systems documentationQualifications:Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience2+ years of working experience as 1st Level Support / User HelpdeskSolid expertise in current Microsoft desktop operating systems and application softwareTaniumSolid knowledge of personal computer hardware configuration and setupExperience with Master Data Management (MDM) preferred but not requiredBasic knowledge of DNS, FTP, TCP/IP, file, and print serversExperience in using Active Directory, creating, and managing accountsStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, conducive to team developmentExcellent telephone and face-to-face communication skillsAbility to multitask in a challenging, fast-paced environmentGood communications skills in English, both verbal and writtenCreative and innovative in problem solvingAvailability to work after hours and weekendsCapable of writing and presenting detailed documentationPhysical Requirements:Operates a computer and performs desk-based computer tasks continually; frequently viewing a computer screenVector Talent Resources is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
