Director, Project Leadership - New Product Introduction (Digital)

Reporting to the Director of Program Management, this role is a key member of the PMO New Product Introduction (NPI) team. It is responsible for leading digital NPI programs and sub-portfolio execution (apps and cloud). This role ensures end‑to‑end orchestration of digital product readiness, from development through launch and scale, across global markets, with accountability for delivery of complex, cross‑functional digital programs within the NPI portfolio.

What You’ll Work On

• Lead the app and cloud portfolio, including execution of major digital NPI programs.
• Translate enterprise divisional strategy into program plans and roadmaps aligned to NPI priorities.
• Ensure alignment to product roadmap, IBP processes and launch commitments.
• Orchestrate dependencies across: Hardware, software, and digital ecosystems.
• Cross‑functional partners, external partners and platform integrations.
• Resolve cross‑system constraints and execution risks impacting delivery timelines.
• Lead governance for assigned programs and contribute to portfolio governance forums.
• Drive structured decision‑making through clear status, risks, trade‑offs, recommended actions for leadership.
• Apply and improve existing operating models, processes, and tools.
• Ensure programs meet NPI readiness milestones: product development maturity, regulatory submissions and approvals, digital system readiness, commercial launch preparedness.
• Drive consistent, high‑quality execution across global product launches and releases.
• Manage program‑level risks, dependencies, and trade‑offs and ensure alignment with regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements.
• Escalate critical risks with clear mitigation plans and recommendations.
• Provide clear, decision‑oriented insights into the portfolio team and senior leadership.
• Frame options, trade‑offs, and recommendations to drive timely decisions.
• Lead and develop project and program leaders (G18–G20) within assigned programs.
• Drive execution rigor, accountability and consistent ways of working.
• Contribute to development of PMO capability, tools, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years experience in program/portfolio leadership within a global, matrixed team, preferably including experience with consumer‑focused medical or software products.
• Associate’s degree (≈13 years experience) is preferred.
• Cross‑functional experience in R&D, commercial, clinical, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing.
• Knowledge of regulations and standards related to medical devices (e.g., FDA, ISO, QSR design controls).
• Proven ability to lead enterprise‑level portfolios and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong governance design, operating models, and portfolio prioritization expertise.
• Strong executive communication and decision‑making skills.
• Proven track record of building and developing high‑performing teams.
• Experience with portfolio management tools and reporting frameworks is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in cross‑functional collaboration across multiple time zones.
• Strong leadership and ability to synthesize and resolve conflicting requirements.

Job Details

Base pay: $172,000.00 – $344,000.00 (range may vary by location).

Division: Project Management – ADC Diabetes Care.

Location: United States – Alameda: 2601 Harbor Bay Parkway.

Work shift: Standard. Travel: Not specified.

Significant work activities: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day).
