Dietary Aide Facility: Park Avenue Extended Care Position: Dietary Aide Location: Long Beach, NY Schedule: Part-Time | Varied Shifts Pay Rate: $24.65 per hour Join Our Team as a Dietary Aide! Park Avenue Extended Care is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our Food and Nutrition Services team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a team environment and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen while helping provide quality meal service to our residents. Key Responsibilities Assist with preparing simple foods and beverages, including toast, tea, and coffee. Set up dining areas, serving counters, meal trays, and tables for meal service. Serve, transport, and deliver meals, food trays, and supplies to designated areas. Assist with food and supply inventories, requisitions, and storage. Wash dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment by hand or using automatic dishwashers. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, tables, serving counters, floors, walls, and other food service areas. Remove leftover food, dispose of garbage, and clean food carts and waste containers. Maintain proper personal hygiene and follow food safety and sanitation procedures, including the use of hairnets, gloves, and other required protective equipment. Assist with food preparation, portioning, and serving as directed by the supervisor. Help move equipment and supplies and perform other related duties as assigned. Adapt to changing daily assignments and assist in different food service areas as needed, including weekends and holidays. Qualifications Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Strong attention to detail and a dependable, team-oriented work ethic. Manual dexterity and motor coordination to handle dishes, trays, and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Ability to perform a variety of kitchen cleaning, food service, and sanitation duties.
