14000 Technology Dr., Eden Prairie, MN 55344, USA Full-time Job Description Perform machining operations in accordance with MTS Machine Shop procedures and work instructions. Utilize documentation and skills to provide parts and assemblies to internal and external customers that meet quality and schedule requirements. Major Areas of Accountability Perform machining operations on a variety of parts and be fully competent in the following areas: Perform set‑ups in a timely and efficient manner. Perform preventive maintenance as required or apparent. Maintain a clean and well‑organized work area. Interpret MTS machining prints and meet print requirements. Operate Machine Shop routing system. Inspect and verify dimensions to required accuracy. Provide constructive feedback to area supervisor on quality issues, trends and workload. Exhibit willingness to help resolve issues regarding schedules and priorities. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work overtime and to meet demands of other workstations. Interact and communicate effectively with all colleagues, including supervisors. Display ability to work as part of a team. Operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner. Identify safety hazards and involve appropriate parties to resolve. Initiate creative and/or innovative ideas and demonstrate willingness to implement them. Machinist cross‑training: learn multiple disciplines within the machine shop, including CNC lathe and mill, cylindrical grinding, surface grinding and manual mill and lathe. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent. Minimum Qualifications Two‑year certification from college or trade school and four years applicable experience in a machine shop environment, or eight years of experience in a machine shop environment. Minimum Knowledge And Skills Understand and apply advanced machining knowledge. Machining tolerances and measuring equipment, tooling selection, machine setup and operations. Common machining symbols on MTS prints. Understanding of material characteristics and proper machining techniques. Ability to edit CNC G‑Code and M‑Code through conversational software and CAD/CAM software for CNC operators or ability to run multiple manual machines. Ability to manage multiple machine offsets and tool offsets for CNC operators. Compensation $30.00 - $36.00 per hour , commensurate with experience and qualifications. Plus $1.10 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift.
