Position Summary Direct hands‑on mechanical and electrical hourly and salaried employee(s) to meet short and long‑range objectives with optimum efficiency. Plan maintenance/capital budgets through the identification of plant opportunities. Ensure project standards and guidelines are applied and adhered to as established. Focus on productivity improvements to attain cost optimization. Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained and documented. Develop and implement improved maintenance processes aimed at optimizing the overall productivity of the plant. Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure implementation and progress of goals. Drive a culture of change from reactive to proactive in the approach to asset management and reliability. Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) initiatives and awareness programs. Responsibilities & Expectations Reliability and availability of plant assets and equipment Directs and prioritizes needed repairs Regularly advises production/plant management of needed equipment status and repair Leads the identification of and resolution of equipment failures Allocates resources appropriately in the face of competing demands Effectively manages the selection and utilization of contractors Champion maintenance department communications Communicates effectively with all maintenance employees Clearly establishes and communicates the vision for the department Creates a culture of trust and open communication Leadership and Development of Maintenance Staff (Electricians and Mechanics) Provides hands‑on structure, direction, and feedback to the maintenance team Readily shares information and develops the maintenance team by delegating to their strengths Sets clear guidelines and expectations for the maintenance team Acts as a positive leader that encourages cross‑functional communication Drives culture change from reactive to proactive in the approach to asset management and reliability Provides clear and honest feedback to direct reports and those managed through projects Establishes and communicates clear roles and job performance expectations Direct Maintenance, electrical, and engineering to meet short‑and long‑range objectives with optimum efficiency Plans maintenance/capital budgets through the identification of plant opportunities Ensures annual outages are planned, scheduled, executed, and closed Meets reliability, efficiencies, and cost objectives as planned and budgeted Ensures project standards and guidelines are applied and adhered to as established Focuses on productivity improvements to attain cost optimization Ensures regulatory compliance is maintained and documented Implements spares management best practices Develops and implements improved maintenance processes aimed at optimizing the overall productivity of the plant Environmental, Health and Safety Leads by example and demonstrates EH&S leadership Ensures compliance of the maintenance team with all EH&S standards, programs and requirements Monitors workplace to ensure a safe and healthy environment Demonstrates environmental and safety regulatory leadership; supports Environmental Health and Safety initiatives and awareness programs Ensures employees have a clear understanding of expected safety performance Leads and promotes a safety culture Responsible for the facilities’ Safe Food initiative based on FSMA and current good manufacturing practices Attributes Perform Other Duties as Assigned. Requirements Strong knowledge of electrical power infrastructure and process control systems Demonstrated management and financial leadership experience Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all levels Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Strong presentation and public speaking skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meet all required deadlines Strong sense of urgency in meeting customer needs Good understanding of safety, environmental, and the desire to follow all established procedures are required Forward‑looking action‑oriented team player that works well with cross‑functional groups Displays sound judgment when deciding among multiple alternatives Ability to multi‑task, with excellent organizational and communication skills, proven problem‑solving skills and can think “outside the box” Must be capable of working any shift, overtime, seven days, or holidays, if needed. Solid daily attendance is required. Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint software. Previous SAP knowledge is a plus. Physical Demands Include, But Are Not Limited To Must be physically able to perform work assigned Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels Will be working in an office environment, mining, and mineral processing environment The employee will be exposed to working conditions: extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, oils, and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, and metallic particles The employee will be required to perform the following actions from time to time: standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, and sitting Able to lift up to 50 pounds Required Education High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a technical‑related field or demonstrated skills and ability and/or equivalent work experience in the field is desired Preferred Education 1–3 BS degrees in Engineering or a relevant/related field; with strong electrical, PLC control, and Mechanical Maintenance background. Master’s degree is a plus Required Experience At least five to seven years of previous proven hands‑on maintenance leadership experience in a fast‑paced heavy manufacturing, construction, and/or mining environment. Previous electrical or mechanical experience is required.
