Regional Business Office Manager

Job Summary:

At One Twenty One RCM, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Regional Business Office Manager to provide leadership, oversight, and support to Business Office teams across an assigned region. As a Regional Business Office Manager, you will be responsible for driving regional collection performance, identifying and resolving revenue barriers, ensuring strong business office processes, and providing hands-on training, mentorship, and accountability to facility Business Office teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight to Business Office Managers within the assigned region.
• Drive regional cash collections and accounts receivable performance with a strong focus on Private Pay, Patient Liability, and Medicaid Pending accounts.
• Review AR aging and identify collection barriers, trends, high-risk accounts, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure Medicaid Pending cases are actively worked, appropriately documented, escalated, and followed through resolution.
• Oversee facility pre-billing processes to support accurate, timely, and clean claim submission.
• Monitor business office operations for compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal requirements.
• Train, mentor, and develop Business Office Managers to strengthen performance and operational knowledge.
• Coordinate and support onboarding and training of newly hired Business Office Managers.
• Conduct facility site visits, audits, account reviews, and operational assessments.
• Partner with Administrators and Regional Operations leadership to address facility-level revenue cycle concerns.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Social Services, MDS, Clinical, and other departments to resolve issues affecting reimbursement and collections.
• Participate in AR reviews and regional leadership meetings and provide clear updates regarding performance, barriers, risks, and action plans.
• Ensure appropriate Business Office coverage during vacancies, PTO, acquisitions, transitions, or other operational needs.
• Promote a culture of accountability, urgency, collaboration, accuracy, and continuous improvement throughout the region.

What We’re Looking For:

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who can analyze AR, identify the root cause of a problem, develop an action plan, and coach the facility team through execution. We are looking for a candidate with:

• Previous skilled nursing, long-term care, healthcare revenue cycle, or Business Office experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and collection practices.
• Experience with Indiana Medicaid, Medicaid Pending, Medicare, Managed Care, Private Pay, and Patient Liability preferred.
• Previous Business Office Manager or multi-facility leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of billing, pre-billing, eligibility, authorization, and collection processes.
• Ability to analyze AR reports and turn findings into measurable action.
• Strong leadership, training, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to hold teams accountable while providing appropriate coaching and support.
• Ability to manage multiple facilities and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working collaboratively with facility and regional Operations leadership.
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region as needed.

Education & Experience:

Associate degree in a business-related field or equivalent relevant experience preferred. Previous healthcare Business Office operations experience is strongly preferred. Indiana Medicaid experience is highly preferred.
