HIM Operations SupervisorThe HIM Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Health Information Management (HIM) Operations team. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant management of medical records, including chart completion, record processing, and document imaging. The supervisor provides leadership, training, and performance management for HIM Operations staff to meet and maintain departmental goals and regulatory compliance.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum 7 years experience in HIM and/or revenue cycle requiredAssociates degree preferredExtensive knowledge of state and federal requirements for medical record documentation and retentionExtensive knowledge of HIPAA requirementsRHIT or RHIA preferredEpic Experience PreferredStrong interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate and motivate staffAbility to train and motivate othersDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise HIM Operations staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, and timely performance evaluations.Responsible for executing and meeting KPIs as determined by leadershipResponsible for oversight of staff including individual goal setting and mentorship for growthIdentify areas for efficiency and process improvement, providing proactive solutions or recommendationsImplement changes as directed by leadership, including data from Analysts and business parters within revenue cycles, for workflow and quality improvementEnsure timely processing of health records to support clinical and administrative needs.Maintain positive relationships with physicians and department leadershipEscalate department issues and concerns to IT, operational, and HIM leadership as appropriateConduct team huddles to communicate organizational updates, common trends, and encourage team members.Serve as the subject matter expert for HIM chart completion and record processingMaintain adherence to HIPAA, Joint Commission, and organizational policiesOther duties as assigned
