People & Culture Specialist

Position Summary The People & Culture Specialist supports a positive, high-performance workplace environment by managing core HR and people operations functions. This role focuses on employee relations, onboarding, employee engagement, policy support, and general HRoperations. The position helps ensure employees understand and follow organizational expectations, values, and workplace standards while contributing to a respectful and collaborative culture. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, discretion, and the ability to balance empathy with accountability. The People & Culture Specialist reports to senior leadership. Position Responsibilities Employee Relations & Workplace Support Serve as a point of contact for employee relations and workplace concerns Support consistent application of policies and workplace expectations Document employee relations issues and support corrective action processes Partner with leaders to address employee performance and conduct concerns Maintain confidentiality and escalate issues when appropriate Culture & Employee Experience Support employee engagement and workplace culture initiatives Reinforce organizational values through daily interactions and processes Assist with efforts to improve retention, morale, and team collaboration Support recognition and employee experience programs Hiring & Onboarding Support Assist with candidate sourcing, screening, and interview coordination Support onboarding processes and new hire integration Help maintain onboarding materials, policies, and related documentation Partner with leaders to ensure a smooth new hire experience HR Operations & Administration Support HR administrative processes and employee recordkeeping Assist with HR workflows such as onboarding, employee changes, and documentation Support payroll and HR system processes as needed Help maintain compliance with internal policies and procedures Cross-Functional Support Partner with leadership on employee-related matters and workforce needs Support managers with employee relations and communication guidance Contribute to improvements in HR processes and systems as the organization grows Qualifications 5-10 years of experience in HR, people operations, or employee relations Experience handling employee relations and workplace issues Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to balance empathy and accountability Experience in growing or dynamic organizations preferred Familiarity with HR systems and payroll processes preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business tools
