Our Robert Half client, a large and highly respected Fortune 300 organization , is seeking a Supervisor of Fixed Assets to join its corporate accounting organization. This is a high-visibility opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys leading people, improving processes, and working across a complex enterprise.

The Supervisor will lead a team of accounting professionals responsible for fixed assets, capital accounting and related financial reporting activities . This individual will play an important role in the monthly close, accounting for significant capital investments, lease accounting, internal controls, and providing accurate financial information supporting the company's external and SEC reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team responsible for fixed asset and capital accounting activities.
• Oversee accounting for capital expenditures, asset additions, transfers, retirements, depreciation and related balance sheet accounts.
• Support lease accounting , including accounting analysis, reconciliations, reporting and compliance with applicable GAAP requirements.
• Provide accurate and timely financial information and disclosures supporting SEC and other external reporting .
• Partner with corporate accounting and finance teams during monthly, quarterly and annual close cycles.
• Review complex accounting matters involving capital projects, fixed assets and related transactions.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and assist with audit requests and resolution of accounting or control matters.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and analysis related to capital spending and depreciation.
• Oversee accounting systems, data integrity, interfaces, reconciliations and close-related activities.
• Identify opportunities to automate, standardize and improve accounting processes and reporting.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, technology and other business partners across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field .
• 7+ years of progressive accounting, audit or financial reporting experience.
• Prior leadership, supervisory or significant project leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, fixed asset accounting, financial reporting and internal controls .
• Experience working within a large, complex corporate environment preferred.
• CPA and/or public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with lease accounting, capital-intensive organizations or large ERP/accounting systems is beneficial.
• Strong Excel, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively partner across multiple levels of an organization.
