Job Title: Interventional Services Manager Profession: Nursing Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab circulating and monitoring or as a manager/supervisor/coordinator in an operating room. License: Current RN license in the State; current BLS, ACLS certification. Certifications: Certifications specific to areas of clinical specialty preferred (e.g., RCIS, NIH Stroke Scale), IV certification. Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN in Nursing. Evidence of appropriate continuing education for skill level and area of practice. Description: The Interventional Services Manager coordinates all aspects of patient care for interventional radiology and cardiology procedures. This role utilizes a yearly operational budget in coordination with the OR Director. The manager maintains a working knowledge of medical/legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements for the multidisciplinary interventional team. They ensure departmental compliance and provide direct supervision of the nursing staff and technologists in the department. The manager collaborates with the departments to coordinate interventional nursing and radiology technologist activity as needed. They report directly to the OR Director. Key responsibilities include: Accepting responsibility for the coordination of all interventional staffing and patient care activities. Promoting the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Managing the interventional area both operationally and fiscally. Verifying that personnel provide safe patient care in all areas assigned. Incorporating and assisting with evidence-based practices into patient care. Assisting personnel in evaluating practice and creating strategies for improvement. Ensuring that educational resources are available for the interventional team. Holding personnel accountable for attendance and completion. Coordinating, facilitating, and managing change within the interventional area. Demonstrating effective communication, consultation, negotiation, and collaboration skills. Collecting and analyzing data related to performance improvement projects. Using effective conflict resolution techniques. Facilitating a multidisciplinary team approach in planning interventional patient care. Evaluating personnel performance and providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback. Conducting interviews for personnel selection. Verifying that necessary personnel, equipment, and supplies are available. Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures and regulatory standards. Exhibiting professional, interpersonal, and communication skills. Using effective project management principles. Pursuing professional growth and participating in professional organizations. Acting as a patient advocate and maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Ensuring personnel receive their mandated breaks and lunches. Overseeing management of supplies and par levels, restocking rooms, and tracking expiration dates. Functioning in a staff role, as needed, including nursing duties, administering medications, and maintaining sterile techniques. Collaborating with team members on patient care and pre-procedure discussions. Assisting in patient preparation, positioning, and monitoring vital signs. Ensuring all devices are cleaned, charged, and properly stored. Making evaluations and decisions based on measurable or verifiable criteria. Recognizing and protecting patient rights. Creating a sense of teamwork and cooperation. Communicating effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Performing any additional duties as assigned. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently. The role requires frequent standing and walking throughout the shift. This position involves exposure to infectious diseases and requires adherence to safety protocols. The work environment may be fast-paced and subject to changing circumstances.
