Senior Data Modeler

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Data Modeler to join our client, a prominent healthcare insurance/payer organization. This role is crucial for supporting enterprise data strategies across healthcare payer platforms. The Senior Data Modeler will operate at the intersection of traditional enterprise data modeling and modern semantic modeling, focusing on cloud analytics and AI readiness within Snowflake and Databricks environments. This is a 100% remote position for candidates outside the NY Tri-State area, with occasional onsite work in Newark, NJ preferred for those within the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models as a Senior Data Modeler.
• Analyze healthcare payer data, including claims, eligibility, provider, clinical, and pharmacy information.
• Translate normalized models into semantic views and logical tables for BI and AI purposes.
• Support Snowflake semantic modeling and Databricks lakehouse patterns.
• Produce and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documentation.
• Generate and manage DDL scripts, ensuring proper versioning and change control.
• Collaborate across all SDLC phases, from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Review ingestion pipelines to ensure alignment with downstream models.
• Support legacy RDBMS models while transitioning to cloud architectures.

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of enterprise data modeling experience, with a focus on healthcare payer domains.
• Proficiency in Snowflake and/or Databricks environments.
• Strong expertise in logical and physical modeling, including 3NF and dimensional modeling.
• Experience in semantic modeling for BI and AI applications.
• Advanced SQL and DDL scripting capabilities.
• Familiarity with modeling tools such as ER Studio (Embarcadero) or Erwin.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative as a Senior Data Modeler.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to AI/ML enablement through semantic layers as a Senior Data Modeler.
• Experience with governance, metadata management, and business glossaries.
